Mariana Goulart Kraemer


Mariana Kraemer was born 1972, Porto Alegre, South Brazil. She has been living in São Paulo, Brazil, and recently moved to New York, NY. She directs her own company, Mariana Kraemer Interiores e Cenografia, since 2001.Her aesthetic isparticularly well translated into projects that include the airy modern space of award winning Maní Restaurant -- elected by the Restaurant Magazine ranking, the 46th world's best restaurant in 2013-- and residential renewing and interior design projects in São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro.

As a scenographer, she developed the 8th, 9th and 10th editions of the Rede Globo Business Fair, the 1st & 2nd Edition of “Semana de Moda” (an alternative Fashion Week organized in São Paulo by André Hidalgo), Emerging Talents in Fashion Contest sponsored by the City of São Paulo and Nokia, and others comercial projects.

Between the years of 2001 and 2002, she worked with cultural initiatives sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil, such as Ilha! Project, a social, cultural and artistic movement that addressed global water security through the mediums of theater, cinema dance and circus arts. In the sam period, worked with director Ricardo Nauenberg, on the Roberto Marinho Foundation Sound & Light Project for the Museum of Petropolis in Rio de Janeiro.

Subsequently, in 2000 she produced and designed the set for the Luciano Pavarotti show in Salvador, Bahia on behalf of DC Productions. The show was a part of a larger project called “Brasil 500 anos” (Brazil 500 Years) that included guest appearances by Maria Bethânia and Gal Costa. During this period, Mariana also focused on interior design projects.

In 1999, Mariana went to Barcelona on behalf of Ovídeo Films and Rodar Films. There she collaborated with Arte Anchón on the art direction of publicity reels for Pedro Almodóvar’s movie Todo Sobre Mi Madre.

In 1997, having relocated to São Paulo, Mariana began her work with visual media. While working for the agency Conspiração Filmes, executive and art director of films and commercials for clients such as Rede Globo Television Network, Fiat, Free, Smart Card, Grendene and Brahma.

In 1995, she started working independently, producing and art directing regional fashion shows in her home State, large events and music festivals. Highlights include nine consecutive Planeta Atlântida Music Festivals and 24th Gramado Film Festival and (sponsored by RBS and DCSet), 1995 & 1996 Regionals for the Elite Model Look Contest.

Fresh out of university and at the young age of 21, began her career in marketing, working for well known local communications and media companies such as Zero Hora News Company, RBS Media Group and the Junior Achievement Association.
